Say ‘I Do’ to Wedding Insurance

By Posted On February 15 2017

Getting married is one of the best feelings in the world. It offers a time that you will remember for years to come, but it can also be very stressful.

Weddings are time-sensitive. We spend months and maybe even years planning a wedding and want to make sure that nothing goes wrong. We all hope for the best, but should also plan for the worst.

Many couples go through situations where the wedding simply gets cancelled and thousands of dollars are wasted. For this reason, wedding insurance is on the rise.

There are endless possibilities for what could happen on your wedding day that may be unexpected. As weddings take so much time and effort to plan, it seems best to be ahead of the game and be prepared for whatever might come your way.

Let’s say you choose a reception out in a remote location, however a snowstorm makes it inaccessible on the day of the wedding. With no insurance, you would lose all your money in terms of deposits and costs instantly. However, insurance can help you to recuperate deposit for wedding venue, wedding photographer, wedding dress, wedding cake, wedding banquet, wedding band, wedding caterer, wedding DJ, and/or wedding cake deposit.

What if a new suit has to be bought for the groom because the main one didn’t make its way out from baggage claim at the airport? What if the location of your reception goes out of business and not only do you have to book a new one, but you also lose your deposit? No matter how much planning we do, nothing can prevent external factors just like these so having wedding insurance can protect the money you have spread out over the state.

Life can be stressful sometimes and we have no control over what is going to happen next. However, you can be in control of how well you protect yourself against accidents or poor fortune. With Wedding Insurance, you are giving your wedding the best chance at success because problems can be fixed easily. 5 Q’s Till You Say ‘I Do’ to the Venue

By Posted On December 16 2016

We know how stressful wedding planning can be for you. You’ve probably never planned an event of this magnitude in your life. Don’t stress we’re here to help.

The first thing we need to decide is how many people you want to invite. And yes, expect for only 75% of people to make it. You know your crazy Uncle Eddie is going, he just isn’t one to RSVP, so plan accordingly.

Some important questions to ask your venue are:

  • Do you have a weather contingency plan?
  • What is the rental fee, and what does/doesn’t it include?
  • If the ceremony and reception can be held there?
  • Is there a security deposit?
  • What is your cancellation policy?

Use our Austin Wedding Guide website as your resource to help plan you special day.

Floral Head Wreaths For Everyone

By Posted On October 09 2016

You’re in the midst of wedding planning; trying on your wedding dress, figuring out what makeup will compliment your look the best, and, of course, the do. Regardless if you’re wearing your hair up or down, head decor adds a little extra beauty to your look. If you’re currently planning your wedding, you’ve probably seen more and more floral head wreaths floating around Pinterest. With their organic and nature feel, floral head wreaths make a perfect accessory for outdoor weddings.

Floral head wreaths are quick and easy for florists to create and are easily adjustable for any head shape or size; this means you can adorn your flower girl or anyone else in your bridal party…including fur babies. 🙂 If you’re indecisive and can’t choose between a floral head wreath or a traditional veil, pair the two together and attach the veil to your personalized head wreath! Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too.  😉

Check out some of our favorite floral head wreaths from The Flower Girl, Wild Bunches Floral, Sami’s Flower Shop and Event Services, Wow Factor Floral Design, ZuZu’s Petals, and Bouquets of Austin. #yourweddingguide

An Austin Photographer With A Kick

By Posted On September 18 2016

Out of all the photographers I’ve met, there has only been one who is bi-lingual. Now, I’m sure there are more here in #Austin BUT they are a rarity. Katia Forero is not only bi-lingual, but has the spunk, sweetness, and talent to capture your wedding perfectly. She moved here from Pittsburgh and photographed in some of the most challenging wedding venues in that city – dark lit venues can be extremely hard to capture if you don’t know how to shoot in low-lit areas. What was once a challenge is now a piece of cake for Katia; she can capture your event in any type of lighting and do it with a smile on her face. A talented and up-and-coming Austin photographer that will most likely become a friend after meeting her. Check out some of Katia Forero’s work below – just beautiful.

Saying “I Do” Alongside The Austin Skyline

By Posted On September 04 2016

Have you ever thought about getting married on a boat? Maybe a rehearsal party or birthday party? If you’re wedding party size is more on the intimate side, this option may be perfect. For out-of-towners, this would be such a fun and unique experience to give them…not that you’re planning your wedding around them but just sayin’.

I recently had the pleasure of attending Capital Crusie’s bat tour as well as their intimate canopied boat cruise. Let’s start with the bat tour; as a born and raised Austinite, I found out I still didn’t know a lot about this beautiful city. Throughout the hour-long tour, the tour guide was very entertaining as well as informative – a great time for your out-of-towner’s or just because you’ve never done it before. The entire cruise was absolutely beautiful; the Austin skyline, surrounding nature, the lake, turtles, dogs playing in and out of the water and, finally, the bats!

Along with Austin’s reputation for live music, it’s also known for the Congress bridge bats. I won’t give you too many details because you’ll have to experience it for yourself BUT, there are over 1 million bats residing under that bridge! If you haven’t experienced this amazing visual, you need to. Bats do SO much for our eco-system making it quite a privilege to have them reside in our hometown – take the tour to find out exactly what I’m talking about. 😉

Okay, now let’s talk a bit about the intimate boat ride; this particular boat seats up 10 people and has a canopy with pull down clear windows so no matter what time of year it is, this crazy Texas weather won’t rain on your parade. This would be a great idea for an intimate date (also a beautiful proposal! hint hint, wink wink) or a nice relaxing time with friends and family. Food is allowed on the boat so take your sammiches and cocktails and relax. (Sighs)

Now, if you’re looking to hold your wedding, wedding rehearsal, corporate outing, bachelor/bachelorette party, or family reunion, Capital Cruise’s flagship vessel can accommodate up to 140 people – why not say “I do” in such a relaxing setting?! Capital Crusie’s also offers swan rentals (yes, a huge paddling swan!), kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, so regardless if you want to propose to your awesome significant other, party with friends or just relax, they have something fun for you.
